Did everyone have a good Thanksgiving; its seems so long ago now Thanksgiving was a little sobering this year for my family. The weekend before Thanksgiving, I was notified of my fathers sudden passing. While he and I had our disagreements recently, he will be missed. I'm cherishing my happy memories and remembering the big heart he shared with others! The past few weeks have been a lesson in forgiveness and humility. Please remember to cherish the moments you have with your loved ones; you never know when those moments will come to an end.
With the sobering start to the holiday season, it is safe to say my holiday cheer is a little depleted this year. However, I forged ahead with putting up the Christmas tree and holiday decorations throughout the house. Perhaps the weather is another reason I'm not feeling the holiday spirit this year. I should bite my tongue, but I could use a little snow to get me in the Christmas spirit.
This weekend I will start with my Christmas baking. I have been working on my list of Christmas cookies over the weekend and surfing Pinterest for a few new ideas. Of course, grandmas sugar cookies are on the list! Recently, I added gingerbread cookies to the mix for Andrew. What are your Christmas favorites? How do you get in the Christmas spirit?
Your father loved you very much. I'm glad you have some happy memories to hold on to. Although we can't go back, we can go forward.
